Although we maintain a production facility that builds and ships the PortaSat to our customers, we sell and support our product while traveling throughout the country.

	We know you need to stay in constant communication with your business interests via E-Mail, pay your bills online, and track the stock market. You need reliable, high-speed Internet service.
	We know you have already tried cell phones and wireless cards and found that they are not always available everywhere you would like to roam and often provide very slow Internet access even when you are in within their network zones.
	We know the often touted Wi-Fi accessibility in RV parks has proven to be disappointing and rarely secure enough for private business transactions.
	We also know you spend some of the year in a fixed location where you may have a high-speed cable Internet connection already in place.
HughesNet, our Internet provider, allows you to put your service on suspension for up to 6 months in any one year.
If you travel extensively and then return back to your home base, suspend the service until you need it again.
Service Contract Options:
Option 1 - 24-Month Contract: The current 24-month service commitment is extended if you use the "suspension" option until your service has been online for 24 months. When that commitment is met the service reverts to month-to-month (very similar to cell phone contracts). This option includes the 24-month HughesNet warranty on the equipment and a $100 mail-in rebate.
Option 2 - No Contract: Month-to-month service without a contract can be suspended for up to six months each year...or you can cancel the service anytime after the first 31 days of service without the early cancellation penalty ($400). This option includes a 90-day equipment warranty from Maxwell Satellite. HughesNet charges a one-time setup fee of $25. Obviously the $100 mail-in rebate from HughesNet does not apply as you are not under contract.

We have selected HughesNet to provide your Internet service as it maintains several satellites capable of providing service throughout the lower 48 states, Southern Canada and Northern Mexico. Not all of Hughes satellites provide complete coverage, so ask us before you buy.

Security

HughesNet provides Triple DES Encryption on download and upload signals when connected directly to the satellite modem either with one computer or through a wired router sharing the Internet connection with other computers. For extra security, five (5) static IP addresses are available for an additional $20 per month.

Wireless Capability

Wireless: You can connect your wireless router to the HughesNet modem and share the Internet connection among multiple computers. The wireless router you already own will probably work fine. Linksys or D-Link are the routers of choice for most of our customers. [More...]

Email Accounts: HughesNet also includes ten (10) E-Mail accounts with the Small Office and twenty (20) E-Mail accounts with the Business Internet with their one low monthly Internet cost. You can use these accounts or your current email service. The Internet service is invisible to you once online, so the choice is yours.

Automatic Billing: HughesNet bills your credit card automatically each month. If the automatic debit process does not work for you, use the new service by Hughes that allows you to pay one-time online with a credit/debit card or e-check.You must have initiated the service first with a VIsa/MC/Discover/AmerEx credit/debit card. You can change your payment arrangement anytime online.

Billing Direct: For an extra $5 per month, HughesNet will send a bill to you starting on the second billing period.

PrePay: We have currently been advised that a prepayment of one year is accepted by HughesNet.
